It is difficult to understand that someone like you

Is merely skin and bone

Rather I would assume that the clouds of heaven were angels preference when you were sewn

Perhaps it was stardust that trickled from the galaxy

A garden where you were grown

Amongst a field of flowers

That inhabited the beauty of your own

Something as magnificent as you

Can not be made the same

I taste candy on my lips when what passes is your name

As I swallow it daylight seeps down my throat

Perhaps the sun your creator takes blame

Beautiful and mystifying

You glow just the same

Or are you smooth like ocean tides

And I am merely a beach

Being engulfed in such majesty no one could deny

Still I beseech

All this to say you are too wonderful to be made of skin and bone

And allowing me to indulge in grace you should not condone

But I would sew you from clouds if need be

Pluck you again from the galaxy

Extract you again from any field or tree

Taste your name every time I speak

Or await sunset and steal you from thee

Just to see you on the same Earth as me
