As Winter break is approaching, I’m starting to feel really good, despite the last minute school work that I have to finish before finals. I’m feeling good because I can’t wait to be at home, bundled up with my dog and some hot chocolate. Even though I’m getting a break from school, I will still be working. I’m going to ask for as many hours possible and try to save up some money. I do like my job, but I can imagine how hard it will be to get up and drive 30 minutes in the cold and snow. I also don’t want to fall into the habit of laying around all day until work, either. Winter makes me, and I’m sure others feel this way, lazy. Laying in bed seems way more satisfying during these months and I know that other than going to work, I’m going to need to force myself to be productive. It sounds sad, but I know that I can’t be the only one. In order to attempt to remain productive over break, I made a short list of some things I want to accomplish, and if you have some free time over break, I suggest making yourself a list of things to do, or accomplish, unless you really do want to end up in bed all day.

1. Organize closet: I have way too many things that I haven’t worn in years, yet I still keep. I have so much clothing, and I need to make room for everything and eliminate the excess.

2. Rearrange bedroom: I have a small room at home and I have wanted to do this for so long. My goal is to clean my room enough that I can rearrange my furniture and switch things up.

3. Workout: I love working out, but actually bringing myself to the point of doing it is the hard part. I’m going to go to my gym at home as much as I possibly can, without excuses.

4. Activities with friends: I want to do fun things with my friends, rather than either sit in or go out to the bar. I want to take day trips to different places ad try fun things that we haven’t done at all, or in a while.

5. Cozy days: Despite me wanting to remain productive, I do think that it is so important to have those cozy days, all snuggled up in bed or on the couch. These days keep me sane.Â
