As the new year and semester comes along, it is important to not only become organized but to stay organized. I’ve generated some tips that have helped me so I can help you. After all, we want this semester to go as smoothly as possible.

Use the calendar on your phone or computer

I love to use the calendar on my computer which is connected to my phone via iCloud. I use different colored tabs, labeled with what I need to keep organized, in order to recognize what needs to be done for that day. Every time I open my computer it pops up as a reminder. Also, since it is linked to my phone, which I am literally always on, I see the reminder there too.

Using a Physical Planner

On top of using the calendar on my computer and iPhone, I like using a physical planner. I find that actually writing what I have to do out helps me memorize what I need to do. It is also nice to utilize it will I’m doing work without having to pick up my phone and get distracted. While I complete tasks, I also like to cross things off my list as I go along. It makes me feel like I’m accomplishing something.

How I Stay Organized

For some reason, I’m the type of person that looks at my syllabi once in the beginning of the semester then never again. I’ve learned because I do that to write down all of the due dates in my calendar that way they’re in the two places that I always look. Also, for those teachers who don’t remind you when something is coming up you’re not caught slacking.

I hope this helps you become a little bit more organized throughout your year or semester. Good luck!!
