Fall Lookbook : Affordable, cute styles for this fall!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at La Verne chapter.

Hey everybody!

Fall is finally here. What does this mean? Well…. I live in southern California, so it doesn’t mean much. It is still very sunny and warm here, but I am hoping that the weather will shift so I can actually wear these clothing items without sweating. I decided to put together a few staple pieces I have acquired recently to demonstrate how simple it can be to find affordable clothing. I go thrift shopping A LOT so all of these pieces have a thrift shop item incorporated to show you guys that I am a cheap skate, but still fashionable.

SOOOOO LETS BEGIN!

Outfit 1: Fuzzy cardigans are super popular right now, and for a good reason:they’re comfy as hell! This baby feels like a robe that is socially acceptable to wear in public. The color is a nice tan color that I adore for the fall because it reminds me of the leaves. I paired this maroon top with the outfit because I love a warm maroon during this time of the year and the pleather skirt to add a little bit of edginess to the whole outfit. The thigh-high boots are a fall/winter staple because they will keep you warm and they are stunning. Lastly, I love the cabby hat trend right now because it can pull a whole look together (even if you haven’t washed your hair in 5 days)!

Outfit 2: This outfit is super cute and casual. As you may see, the top has a lot of warm tones, which again are beautiful for the fall. The black mid-waisted ripped denim with the vintage belt adds a bit of darkness in tone to the outfit to make the top stand out. These thick belts are amazing in stepping up your denim game, rather than purchasing one brand new, check your local thrift store (or raid your mother’s closet like I did). Last but not least, I love these high top maroon converse because they can add a pop of color to any outfit- in this case, they pull out the colors in the top. I am obsessed with this powder pink purse from Anne Klein because it adds some softness to the deep tones in the outfit.

Outfit 3: Off-the-shoulder tops basically make up my entire closet! I love this one from Fashion Nova because it is so simple but can be dressed up or down. I decided to pair it with the tan corduroy fitted skirt to add a bit of fall leaves tones to the outfit. I also paired the denim top around the waist to pull together the entire look. These Chelsea boots are awesome because they can truly be paired with any outfit and look amazing. Lastly, gotta add in the cabby hat to pull in the black tones from the boots.

Denim top: Banana Republic

Outfit 4: Earthy green is perfect for the fall, because like maroon, it emulates the shades of the leaves. I found this little dress at the thrift store (to my surprise), and the tie-up detail at the breasts creates a really cute look for the fall. I decided to keep this outfit simple and pair it with my thigh high boots, because thigh high boots make any outfit look put together.

Dress: Thrifted

So that completes my little fall lookbook! In case you haven’t noticed, thrift stores are awesome for finding affordable clothing. I recommend visiting a couple thrift stores rather than sticking to one, because obviously each one is going to have a different stock. Keep in mind that a lot of this clothing can be layered in order to accommodate the cooler weather that is to come (hopefully).

XOXO,

Mariah
