It’s The Holiday Season: 5 Most Anticipated Activities During Winter Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lafayette chapter.

With snow comes very specific activities that everyone always looks forward to, or at least I do. Winter is one of my favorite times of the year because I get to ski with my family and friends and then end the day with a good book next to the fire while drinking some hot chocolate. It could not get any better than that. So in anticipation of getting back to that season I compiled a list of all my favorite winter activities. I celebrate Christmas but most of these activities are still just fun to do during winter.

  1. Skiing/Snowboarding/Tubing

There’s just something about cruising down a hill covered in snow.

  1. Ice skating and going to the winter village at Bryant Park in NYC

This year will hopefully be my first time ice skating! I’m horrible at ice skating but I have fun trying. And there’s so many cute shops and delicious snacks for when you’ve had your fill of ice skating. The donuts might be my favorite.

  1. Getting a Christmas Tree, poinsettias, and/or wreaths

They smell so good. I can’t explain it.

  1. Snow ball fights

It’s too much of a classic to not do at least once this winter if you have snow.

  1. Watching Hallmark movies

I’ve heard that at around 30 minutes into each movie the conflict is established and by the end of the movie they have 30 minutes to save the day. It’s so predictable but it’s so funny to watch.

While most of these depend on where you live and if you have snow, you can probably still find your town doing similar things. So go find them and Happy Holidays!
