When people ask me what music I like to listen to, I always hesitate. Not because I’m embarrassed, but because it’s probably not what they’re expecting to hear. I don’t consider myself a “sad girl,” but 90% of the music I listen to could be added to a “rainy day” or “depressed” playlist. Lana Del Rey, Novo Amor, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lorde fill my playlists, and I love it. It’s not that it brings my mood down, but because cascading harmonies and orchestral strings are calming. As a singer, I also appreciate the simple melodies that hold so much emotion. A while ago I discovered a playlist on Spotify called The Most Beautiful Songs in the World. It consumed my Spotify experience for MONTHS. Recently, I thought about creating my own playlist of the most beautiful songs I have ever listened to. I hope you use these songs to help you fall asleep, to cry through a breakup, or to just get you through the day. Here is my list of 25 of the most beautiful songs in the world.
