1. Firstly, tell us a little bit about yourself:
I’m 21 years old and pretty international; I’m half German half Italian, born in Switzerland and I lived in the US and the UK after high school. I am a second year European Management student and will go to Germany for my third and fourth year. I love travelling and meeting new people. I do running, boxing and yoga- and I’ve been vegetarian for 3 and a half years now and vegan for 1 and a half.
2. When and why did you choose to join LUVeg?
I joined during Fresher’s week in my first year, at Fresher’s Fair. I am very passionate about vegetarianism and veganism so I already knew I would join before I came to university.
3. How did you become President and what are your responsibilities?
I was elected in my first year; I was social secretary before and then decided to run for president when elections came up. I organise events with other social secretaries, oversee the welfare of the society, plan campaigns and promote vegetarianism and veganism.
4. What’s your favourite veggie/ vegan meal?
That’s such a hard question; I have loads of favourite meals! I’m half Italian, so I LOVE pizza and pasta. Also everything with avocado (avo is LIFE!) and ice cream!
5. What would you like to be when you’re older?
I would like to do something that creates positive change in the world. I am very interested in protecting the environment, so I would love to work for a sustainable and eco-friendly company or help businesses improve their sustainability. I would also love to run my own company.
6. What’s the best and worst thing about being President of the veggie and vegan society?
One of the best things is hosting a lot of food-centred socials (who doesn’t love food?) and getting to know so many other likeminded people. I also enjoy making other people aware of vegetarianism & veganism. There is no bad thing about it, I really just love it!
