Korinne ‘Rinne’ Julie Früster is not just an RA, the treasurer of Active Minds, a member of the Spartones a capella group, and member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. This communications major has a passion for activism as well as diversity and inclusion (which also happens to be her minor).
“I believe that everyone should have equal opportunity, and that everyone has a voice that should be heard,” says Früster about her passion for activism and equality. Früster hopes to do work similar to the founders of Black Lives Matter, but is not concerned on one specific title or dream job. “I just want to continue working with the people for the people.”
Früster is most definitely deserving of the title of “Baddest Female on Campus” because she wants to give people the chance to be heard. “I’m someone that has faced some hurdles in my life and it took me years to find my voice and speak up,” says Früster. “Now that I can, I intend to use my voice.”
Früster hopes to be able to advocate for, and provide a voice for those who feel they cannot use their voice or cannot speak up. She says, “If someone can breathe a little easier, or not have to think about a daily struggle, or realize that they aren’t alone, that’s mind blowing to me.”
Früster likes to educate and open any eyes that may be blind to some happenings in today’s society. She doesn’t foresee herself changing the world (although we totally think she could), but she likes to think that she is changing people’s own worlds.
