Welcome to HC Lasell member’s day in our lives! We are all going to be taking readers through what a day in our life looks like as busy college students. Our Editor-in-Chief Ariana is going to take you through what it is like being an online college student and a part-time pharmacy technician.
My life is hectic between work and school. I work about four nights a week and have classes four days a week. I only work in the afternoons and nights, but I still, struggle to find time for myself. On top of school and work, I have a lot of commitments at home and I’m the editor-in-chief of HC Lasell.
9:00 am: I wake up at nine when I don’t have any 8 a.m. classes. When I wake up the first thing I do is scroll on social media and make breakfast, usually oatmeal. Depending on how I’m feeling I may run to Dunkin for coffee or make some iced coffee at home.
10:00 am: At ten, I try to get some homework done an hour before class. My schedule is super busy so I take any time I can to do some homework. Most of the time I am doing some reading for the class to get ahead starts on the homework due next week. I try to do as little homework during the week as possible.
11:00 am: I have my New Product Development Class, which is on zoom. This is my only class for the day, however, on Mondays and Wednesdays I have four classes! All my classes have a Zoom meeting time. During this class, we usually go over powerpoints and go over our group projects.
12:30 pm: I make myself some lunch and allow myself to either watch a quick show or go onto social media. I usually try to have food already meal prepped.
1:00- pm: I do my chores for the day before I can go to work. I do the dishes in my parent’s house and clean the kitchen. If I have any extra time I allow myself to do some personal chores around the house.
2:00 pm: I have our HC Lasell meeting, it usually lasts up to a half-hour. After the meeting, I relax before I have to get ready for work.
4:00 pm: Most Thursdays, I work from 4 pm to 9 pm in the pharmacy. I help to check outpatients, answer covid vaccine questions, answer the phones and fill prescriptions. Recently our days have been hectic because we offer covid vaccines and give them out every 15 minutes. The five hours file by rather quickly because it’s so busy.
9:00 pm: I am finally off my shift and go home, luckily it’s only a five-minute drive. When I go home I heat up dinner, depending on how I feel I try to get work done or I give into my exhaustion and watch tv.
11:00- I finally got to bed around eleven after doing my skincare routine.
