Hello there! It’s Jade Diaz, and this week, my Her Campus chapter is doing a week showing you all that our daily lives are like. This is a glimpse of my daily routine, focusing mostly on what my remote schooling life is like. I focused this article specifically on the schedule I keep during work since the weekends vary depending on what I’m doing. Keep reading to find out more about what a day in my life is like!
Morning
I typically start my day by 9:30 am. Some days, when I’m feeling really good, I’ll wake up earlier than this. I usually wake up to a calm song instead of an alarm, as this helps me alleviate the anxiety I get from the loud alarm ringtones that are usually the norm.
After I get up, I put my workout clothes on and prepare for my morning activity. After that workout session, I take a shower, eat some breakfast, and then begin my morning classes. Usually, after my art class, I make myself a latte. Lately, my favorite recipe has been a matcha latte with honey. If you’ve never tried it, I recommend it!
Afternoon
During the afternoon, I do one of two things. I either take a nice afternoon nap, or I work on some homework before my next class. Having a two-hour gap between classes is both a blessing and a curse, so I try to make it my rest period. If I’m feeling well that day, I usually get ahead and get some work done on assignments or clean up my room. Either way, I feel a lot more productive afterward!
Evening
For the nighttime, I work on some homework till 8 pm or 9 pm. If I finish my homework earlier than those times, I tend to use that extra time towards working on my paintings.
I cut my work time off by 9 pm to give myself some time to relax for the night. This is where my nighttime routine comes in. I have dessert, make a cup of nighttime tea, brush my teeth, and then settle into bed. I set my night lights to dim and enjoy a movie or show. I know it’s not good to be on your phone before bed, but it helps me unwind and slowly fall into that restful, sleepy state.
