If you can’t tell, we LOVE Bart Johnson. I mean, he killed it in all three High School Musical movies dishing out the best one-liners that we find ourselves quoting to this day. This is a ranking of the top seven things Bart Johnson aka Coach Jack Bolton said in all of the HSM movies.
1. Jack Bolton: Where’s my team, Darbus?
[notices Troy and Chad in a tree on stage]
Jack Bolton : What the heck are those two doing in a tree?
Ms. Darbus : It’s called crime and punishment, Bolton. Beside, proximity to the arts is cleansing for the soul.
This is probably his most iconic line in all of HSM history when he first catches Troy and Chad helping with set design during detention. Don’t lie, you know you said it in his EXACT tone.
2. Troy Bolton : Dad, did you ever think about trying something new, but were afraid of what your friends might think?
Jack Bolton : What, you mean like going left? You’re doing great!
Proof that all this man eats, breathes, and thinks about is basketball. Remember when Troy seriously needed life advice and his dad thought he needed advice on his layups in basketball? Hey, you gotta be passionate about something.
3. Jack Bolton : [notices that Chad and Troy are not at practice] Where’s Troy and Chad?
[no answer]
Jack Bolton : Don’t make me ask again.
Jack Bolton : [yelling] Where’s Troy and Chad?
Coach Bolton always standing his ground.
4. Troy Bolton: Dad, do I seem different to you this summer?
Jack Bolton: You dress a lot better, that’s for sure.
Ah yes, we also love a fashion-conscious man here at Her Campus Lasell.
5. Jack Bolton: [Troy is on the phone with the Lava Springs manager] Man, he’s really working someone.
Jack Bolton: It can’t be Gabriella. Whenever she calls, he just… blushes.
[the Wildcats all stifle laughs]
Jack Bolton: Hey, I never said that!
He may have #exposed Troy, but he did it out of love.
6. Mrs. Bolton: [Walks in to the boys playing basketball in the kitchen and corrals them] Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Can we all redirect this energy by carrying in the groceries?
Jason Cross, Troy Bolton, Jack Bolton, Chad Danforth, Zeke Baylor: Yes, Mrs. Bolton.
