If you are anything like me, I am already sick of the dining hall food three weeks into school. The snacks currently in my dorm consist of candy, chips, and crackers. The food is not cutting it. I am craving something filling, somewhat healthy, inexpensive, easy to make, and most of all, delicious! Here is a list of some simple snacks you can make in your dorm…

  1. Apples & Peanut Butter

This combination is a perfect mix of sweet and savory. Slice up your preferred apple type and dip it in smooth or crunchy peanut butter. The fruit and protein will leave you feeling energized! You can also swap out the apples for another fruit, like bananas.

  1. Raspberries & Honey

Take some raspberries and drop a few drops of honey inside the hole of the raspberry. This snack is perfect if you have a sweet tooth.

  1. Carrots & Hummus

Carrots are a refreshing snack. Dipped in your favorite type of hummus is a delicious option to snack on between meals.

  1. Trail Mix

Trail Mix is a great option to snack on during a busy schedule in between classes. It is also completely customizable to your liking. I recommend a blend of nuts, almonds, banana chips, cranberries, dark chocolate chips, and Cheerios. However, it is totally up to you!

  1. Nutella or Peanut Butter & Rice Cakes

Grab a plain or flavored rice cake and smear a layer of Nutella or peanut butter on your rice cake. It is a very filling snack to keep you going until your next meal! The best part about rice cakes is they do not expire as quickly as bread or bagels.

I hope these recipes inspire you on your next grocery shopping trip! These simple recipes are great snacks to keep available in your dorm when hunger hits. Enjoy your snacking!
