Getting Through A Stressful Day As Told By Beyonce

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

You step outside into the Newton air, expecting a slight breeze while the sun shines on your face. You forget to check the weather. There is no slight breeze. There is no sun. It isn’t the fall weather you’re hoping for. It is 30 degrees with gusts of wind catching you off guard. Your sweatshirt isn’t enough to keep you warm, but there isn’t time to run inside and dig out your jacket. A defeated sigh falls from your lips as you start your trek across campus to class.

The wind pushes you and your hair goes flying.

Good thing you used the TRESemme Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray this morning and your locks are perfectly tousled.

You have a moment of reflection. Did I put my laptop in my bag this morning? Do I have all my homework?

Your walk stutters for a moment, but then you feel the pull of your MZ Wallace Chelsea Tote on your shoulder. A calm feeling rushes over your body.

The wind is so bad, your eyes start to water. You’re afraid your makeup is smudging as you wipe those no-good tears from your eyes.

All is right in the world, because you applied your NYC New York Color City Proof 24HR Waterproof Eyeshadow and Eye Primer when you did your makeup. No smudges here!

As you walk through the Campus Center in need of warmth, you decide to grab a coffee. Einstein’s somehow forgets to put sugar in it.

Fear not! Reaching into your Chelsea Tote, you pull out some Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener! A quick sprinkle into your coffee and you’re good to go.You finally arrive to class. The warmth of the Donahue Center for Creative and Applied Arts embraces you in a bear hug as you sit down in the classroom. You pull out your computer, looking at the My Social Canvas Stickers on the front. You pull out your notebook and see a She’s The First sticker adorning the blue book of papers, a reminder that you are better, sturdier, and stronger than people know.

Your professor walks in and assigns a midterm project.

Don’t worry! You have Martha Stewart Crafts Glitter Glue & Paints in your room. You will have the best poster in the class!

A hunger comes over you. You’re upset you have to sit in class for one more hour. You are incredibly hangry.

At least you have a Chipotle free entree card in your bag. You plan an after class trip to Chipotle with your closest friends.

You’re bored, as usual. The class material isn’t interesting today and you wish to lounge around and read a book.

You reach into your bag and pull out We Were Liars, a modern suspense novel from New York Times bestselling author E. Lockhart. You discreetly read behind your computer screen.

Your class is finally over. You have the urge to enable women’s participation in conflict prevention, resolution, and recovery.

You participate in the No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project,  an initiative of the Clinton Foundation, working to advance and inspire the full participation of females in the 21st century.

Your mind is exhausted. It’s time for your mid-day nap. You decide to nap in a friend’s room, instead of your own room across campus and your next class is in Donahue.

Laying in your friend’s bed you look up at the wall. A Her Campus exclusive pennant is hanging. You smile and drift off to sleep.

You wake up refreshed and ready to conquer the world.
