Now with classes starting back up again it’s easy to get stressed out and disorganized. However, there are many things one can do to help prevent or reduce stress, as well as become more organized. Here are three tips I use to help me be less stressed and think less frantically about school.
Stress tip 1:
Continue doing something you’re passionate about and make time to do so; whether it’s reading, playing sports, writing, etc. For me, it’s always been dance and with being an online student this semester I’ve made my way back to my former dance studio and take adult classes on Monday nights. It helps me relax and not worry about everything for a couple hours. I also recently bought a yoga mat and want to start getting into that as well. Which leads me into my second stress tip.
Stress tip 2:
Try something new whether it’s an activity, hobby, or whatever. As long as it’s time meant for you and gives you self care. Like how I mentioned I’m going to start doing yoga. Or it could be starting a morning/night skincare routine. Or maybe every day going for a walk around campus or your neighborhood. Something that can focus you away from what has you stressed and just focusing on you or the moment.
Stress tip 3:
Get a planner, even if you don’t think you’ll use it. You will. It helps keep track of deadlines and can make it seem not as chaotic. It’s a good way to stay organized and not forget about assignments or projects. As well as not only seeing the assignment, but writing it down as well is another way to store it in your memory. As well as get individual notebooks for your classes. It’ll help to be more organized and not mix up information between classes.
