When I first started watching the movie Little Women (2019), I didn’t know what to expect. I think I had a mini idea, but I was mostly trying to watch it because of Florence Pugh and her acting. In the film, Florence Pugh plays Amy March, the youngest of the March sisters.
Filming Location
The opening scene and just the whole entire movie was beautiful, especially in the places they shot it. The film was shot in Boston, Massachusetts, and it just made the city and surrounding areas so pretty.
My Favorite Scene
I really enjoyed the scene where Jo March was trying to tell Teddy why she didn’t want to marry him. Throughout that whole scene I just wanted to give Teddy a hug, but I was also admiring the scenery from that shot. Again, I spent a lot of this entire movie crying my eyes out (like when Beth died; she was my favorite sister, but I won’t go into much detail about that right now).
The Message
Overall, I totally agreed with Jo’s stance that women should be able to define who they are and that marriage is just overrated because we each have our own minds. That whole speech Jo was preaching throughout the whole movie made me feel like I could do anything, and we love that.
Final Thoughts
The director Greta Gerwig did an amazing job. I love her work and I have to say this is one of my favorite movies of all time. I watch it on my comfort days or even just to relax. I want to visit the places in which this film was shot, but specifically the one where Jo and Teddy were arguing. I feel like I would want to lay down in the grass, relax, and just take everything in.
