Lasell Falls to Riverie

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

The Lasell men’s basketball team fell to the Rivier University Raiders on Wednesday February 19 with a final score of 60-55. Senior Rob Watts recorded the first points of the game just 19 seconds in, only to have Rivier retaliate 35 seconds later. Rivier pulled ahead of Lasell in the first half, outshooting and all-around out playing them. Lasell looked tired, ending the first half with Rivier leading Lasell 34-20. Half time seemed to be good for Lasell. They battled in the second half with senior Brandon Ganesh, sophomore RJ O’Brien, junior Angel Ortiz and senior Brock Walters all recording three-point field goals. Ganesh led Lasell with 17 points and 36 minutes of playing time. Rivier senior Nick Walch led both teams with 23 points. Lasell (10-5 GNAC) travels to Suffolk University (6-10 GNAC) on February 20, then return to Lasell for the final home game on February 22 against St. Joseph’s of Maine (13-2 GNAC).
