Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons butter, mild extra virgin olive oil, or neutral oil
- 1/4 cup (30g) all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons (35g) sugar
- 1 1/4 tablespoons (13g) natural unsweetened cocoa powder
- Pinch kosher salt
- Tiny pinch of cinnamon, optional
- 3 tablespoons (44ml) milk, water, or coffee
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips
** use a decent size to regular-size mug, a small mug will not be big enough
- Melt butter, If using butter*
- Combine all dry ingredients in a mug, I found using a fork works perfectly
- Stir in the wet ingredients. The batter will look thin that’s ok
- Cook in the microwave uncovered for 1 minute, let the mug cool for a bit before you take it out it will be hot. May need to vary that time based on the power of your microwave.
It is super yummy with a scoop of your favorite ice cream on top, or whipped cream!
The original recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder but it is honestly way too much to the point where it’s chalky and too chocolatey.
