I’m a New Englander through and through, which means fall is my all-time favorite season. I’ve always loved the cooler weather and the opportunity to break out my coziest sweaters or enjoy a warm drink. The colorful changing foliage fills me with joy and doing seasonally appropriate activities is just perfection. Therefore, I compiled a list of my favorite ‘hot girl’ activities to do during autumn.

Curl up with a good book:

I’m already an avid reader, so I will find any reason to spend time reading a book. I’ve been trying to read books that fit the season I’m currently in, so for fall, I’ve selected books with a darker, mysterious vibe to them. Some of these titles include Babel by R.F. Kuang and One for My Enemy by Olivie Blake. Babel satisfies the version of me in another universe that is an Oxford scholar studying literature. I also love books set during the Victorian Era and this scratches that gothic itch for me. Witches are fitting with Halloween coming up, and a Romeo and Juliet retelling with witches? Sign me up. One for My Enemy is delightfully unhinged and dark – perfect for the upcoming spooky season.

Crochet something cozy:

Although crochet is a newer hobby of mine, it has quickly become one of my favorites. It is very relaxing to lay in my bed and work on my latest project while watching television with my roommates. So far, I have made a granny square market bag and have loved using it for my trips to the grocery store or to a local coffee shop. If I’m feeling courageous enough, I want to attempt to make a sweater that will keep me warm all throughout fall and winter.

Visit somewhere with perfect autumn vibes:

I am very fortunate to live in an area where there are tons of fun places to visit during the fall. From enjoying fresh cider at B.F. Clyde’s Cider Mill in Mystic, Connecticut, or apple picking at Holmberg Orchards in my hometown of Gales Ferry, Connecticut; there is no shortage of great things to do during the season. Now that I live in the Boston area, I can look forward to trips into the city to enjoy the foliage and thrifting at Garment District in Cambridge. Boston is beautiful during the fall, and I cannot wait to take it all in.

After spending my whole life growing up in a region that nails autumn every year, it is no wonder why fall is my favorite season. I love doing activities that fit the season I’m in, so you will definitely catch me enjoying any of my hot girl autumn activities this season.
