I have recently been getting into podcasts more, and in honor of Women’s History Month, I thought I would share my three favorites run by women. They have a wide variety of topics so there is definitely something for everyone!
Violating Community Guidelines
Violating Community Guidelines is run by Brittnay Broski and Sarah Schauer. It is unfortunately not active anymore, but there are over 45 episodes and a few live episodes that should keep you entertained for quite some time. This podcast covers a wide range of topics that, hence the name, violate community guidelines. This podcast makes me laugh until I cannot breathe, so if you need to pick me up I recommend this one! My personal favorite episode is episode eighteen: Multi-Level Marketing, in which they dive deeper into multi-level marketing schemes.
True Crime with Kendall Rae
The next podcast is True Crime with Kendall Rae, run by Kendall Rae. This is a more serious podcast, as Kendall tells all sorts of different true crime stories from robberies to murders and kidnappings. Kendall takes such care to research each case diligently and makes sure to pay respects to each victim. While this is a heavier podcast, all my true crime junkies out there will surely love this one. My favorite episode is Found: Jaycee Lee Dugard – A Stolen Life. Kendall also did a YouTube video on this particular case, and as someone who has read Jaycees book, this episode was so well done.
BinchtopiaLastly, Binchtopia, run by Julia Hava and Eliza McLamb, is a good mix of seriousness and feel-good. They touch on a variety of topics varying from also oddly enough, multi-level marketing schemes, to current hot topics such as the whole situation surrounding Gypsy-Rose Blanchard. My personal favorite episode is the Valentine’s Day Hotline. I am referring to their 2022 episode, but they just did one for this year too! I think this is such a fun and interactive way to connect with listeners.
