My Routine for a Full Day of Classes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

I am fortunate enough to not have any classes on Fridays, but that means my Tuesdays and Thursdays are jam packed. Having a full day of classes means being prepared for anything and somehow I’ve been able to create a near-perfect routine to get me through those very long days.

  • The Night Before: My first class is at 9:30, which might as well be an 8 am for me. So to get the most out of my sleep, I make sure to get my homework done, shower, pack my backpack and pick out my outfit before I go to sleep. Depending on how much work I have I’m not always successful, but it’s the thought that counts right?

  • 8 am: I drag myself out of bed, make breakfast and get ready for the day.

  • 9:25 am: I head to my first class, which luckily is right next to my dorm.

  • 10:45 am: I have about 45 minutes before I go to lunch. I usually feel pretty rushed so I don’t start any long homework or projects, but I use my free time wisely and get some of my smaller projects done.

  • 11:30 am: Getting lunch with my friends every day is the only consistent part of my week.

  • 12:20 pm: My next class is in the same building as our Starbucks kiosk, I typically order a caramel macchiato with almond milk. Coffee is a must on a day like today.

  • 1:45 pm: Her Campus time! It’s a lot of work, but our weekly meetings are a nice break in the chaos.

  • 3:00 pm: Our meetings are scheduled until 3:15 but we don’t typically stay that late unless it’s a real busy week. Her Campus meetings, my dorm and my work are all in the same quad so if I did forget something, now’s my chance to get it.

  • 3:30 pm: I’m a mentor for a freshman theatre class. Like a TA, I assist the teacher with whatever she may need, but my job is to be a mentor to the freshman instead of  being a tutor.

  • 4:45 pm: I’m free… sorta. I’m in the musical this semester and luckily I only get called into rehearsal one or two times a week, but sometimes it’s on my busy day. I  do as much homework as I can before heading to dinner.

  • 6 pm: I head to dinner, most of my friends aren’t around until later so I use this as so much need downtime. I bring my headphones to the dining hall and catch up on YouTube or listen to music.

  • 6:45 pm: I get a ride to the theater with my friends.

  • 10 pm: Now I’m really free! If I’m hungry I grab Boomer’s with some of my friends and if I have any homework I’ll finish it up.

  • 11 pm: I can finally go to sleep. Crawling back into bed is the best part of my day.
