Netflix’s Kaleidoscope is a choose-your-own-adventure series about a group that plans a heist to settle an over 10-year vendetta. The plot may be a familiar one but what sets it apart from others is that the episodes can be watched in any order. What is unique about this is it allows viewers to unfold the story in their own way, which makes it even more intriguing. So, the episodes are named by colors, hence the show’s title, and by durations of before or after the heist took place. The show came out this year in January and all the episodes have been released, so there has been a lot of discourse over what is the best order to watch it. Here are the episodes in chronological order:
In Chronological Order:
Violet (24 years before the heist)
Green (7 years before)
Yellow (6 weeks before)
Orange (3 weeks before)
Blue (5 days before)
White (the heist)
Red (the morning after)
Pink (6 months after)
But, if you’re like me, I love the drama, suspense, and shock factor from shows like this. I really like to feel like an investigator in the midst of the mystery of it all. So, I looked up recommendations from other watchers on different orders to watch the series but to make it more fun for myself, I came up with my own order. Here’s what I did:
Celeste’s Order:
Red
Violet
Yellow
Green
Blue
Orange
Pink
White
I was stuck on whether to switch Blue and Orange but I stuck with my initial choice.
Then, Netflix offered other orders; they even shared one to watch in the style of a Quentin Tarantino film: Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Violet, Pink, White, and Red. Moreover, Kaleidoscope was a fun and interesting series to watch and it’s one I highly recommend. I also encourage others to watch it in a fun order like my way or come up with your own! Even if you get bored, you can try watching it in different ways.
