This week’s up for review is Last Christmas.
Last Christmas was released on November 8th and was directed by Paul Feig. I recently went to the movies to see this movie and it was definitely worth the money! At first, I was afraid it was going to be a very cheesy, Hallmark like a movie, which do not get me wrong there is nothing wrong with those types of movies, I just need to be in the mood for those types of movies and know not everyone loves them. Anyway, it was definitely not like that. The movie starts out with the main character, Kate, being frustrated and miserable with her life in London. She lives at home, well tries to avoid that by couch surfing and working at a year-round Christmas shop. She is kinda a hot mess, but then, of course, meets a guy who turns everything, Tom. He is very easy going, happy with life, and a giving person. He tries to teach Kate to have more joy, be more grateful for what she does have, and be a giving person by helping out a homeless shelter where he also helps at. Kate also does not have that great of a relationship with her boss, parents, sisters, or friends really. However, Tom teaches her to make amends and be more caring. However, things take a large turn with an unexpected plot twist, but I will not spoil it and I will not spoil the ending either. I will just say that it was an overall great, humorous, and joyful movie to put anyone into the Christmas spirit.
