Anna Wolski is a senior editor for Her Campus Univeristy of Michigan and president of Alpha Gama Delta. Today, she sat down with our editor-in-chief, Ariana, to talk about Her Campus and life as a Univeristy of Michigan student.
Ariana: Hello Ana, it’s nice to meet you.
Anna: It’s nice to meet you too
Ariana: To start what is your major?
Anna: I am a junior psych and English major. I chose those majors because I want to get into publishing and want to do young adult literature. I want to know what the age group needs and enjoys which is the psychology side of it.Â
Ariana: That’s really cool I never thought of those two majors going together for publishing.
Anna: Yay, it’s also because I couldn’t make a full decision.Â
Ariana: What year of your thought?
Ana: I am a junior, I’m actually the President of my sorority which is why I’m in this room right now and not an office campus house.Â
Ariana: I am so jealous, my school doesn’t allow greek life. Literally all August I was on Alabama Rush Tiktok, it looks so fun.Â
Ana: Listen it is not as fun as you think it is I literally spent all day Sunday in recruitment training 11:30 pm to 4:30 pm and w had an hour-long dinner break then had a chapter meeting from 6:30 to 7: 30 and then I did my homework.Â
Ariana: No wonder you’re busy.
Anna: Yeah, I saw your email in the middle of a rush and as like yeah.Â
Ariana: When do you rush?
Anna: We rush in the winter, December. Right now we have 140 girls in the chapter and I am in charge of making sure they are all thriving, which is usually not the case. The one thing no one warns you about being in a sorry is alot of high school problems like stealing someone’s boring or this girl saying something mean to someone. Luckily the new president is already voted in and I just need to get through this. December is when we transition power and I get her through a rush.Â
Ariana: So what position do you have on Her Campus?
Anna: I am a featured editor which is below the editor in chief. I’m not in charge which is fine by me. I am totally comfortable having some things to do to help out and edit some articles.Â
Ariana: So what does a feature editor do because we don’t structure our organization like that, below me, would be the copy editor and assistant copy editor.Â
Anna: So we have the other Anna as our editor in chief and I’m not sure if the term is a feature or senior editor, but she assigns the five of us (feature editors) people’s articles to edit.Â
Ariana: Oh yeah, that’s like our copy editor then.
Anna: Yeah but senior editor looks better on my resume. I appreciate her calling us senior editors instead. I’m honestly just vibing it out this semester. Next semester I can do way more involved but I kind of have to career the new sorority president with me. We elected a new President two weeks ago so she exists and she’s not a figment of my imagination and she’s gonna save me.Â
Ariana: Thank you for your time, Anna.
Anna: No problem
