Growing up in the early 2000’s provided us with a variety of games, styles, and just life in general. For my elementary school, and I know for many others, a huge source of fun, that also taught us our top-notch negotiation skills, is Silly Bandz. I specifically remember sitting around with the rest of the class at recess, trading these bands and seeing who has the best ones. Below I have come up with a list of the Silly Bandz we thought were the best and most lucrative form of money, even if they actually only cost our parents five dollars.
- Dinosaurs
Dinosaur Silly Bandz were crucial to my fourth-grade class. They helped us learn about different dinosaurs and it was so exciting to show these creatures off to our friends. When we had the dinosaur unit in science class, the trade value of these bracelets skyrocketed- definitely about two bunnies or three baseball diamonds to get one of them!
- Bull Rider
We thought that this particular one was the coolest thing ever! They were rare and fit the image of our town very well so everyone wanted them!
- Drum Set
This was the year in school where we really started playing various instruments in music class- the drums being a class favorite. Due to this, these bracelets were a huge hit!
- Penguin
After the class field trip to the aquarium, everyone wanted a penguin, Silly Band!
- Umbrella
The umbrella was a favorite among my class as well. I’m not sure if we thought they would actually protect us from rainy days- but we truly loved these bracelets.
