If you’re anything like me, you always have a tube of chapstick on you. In every purse, backpack, and even jacket you’ve ever owned, you keep a tube of chapstick in at least one of the pockets. I mean, there’s even a tube of chapstick in the glove compartment of your car that you have to replace every summer once it gets disgustingly hot outside and it melts. But, not all chapsticks are created equal. There is one brand of chapstick that is super to all others, and that is the ChapStick brand itself. Even within that brand, however, there are a million different flavors, and while most of them are delicious, some of them deserve to be taken off of the shelves. As an expert on chapstick, I felt that it was important to share with all of you the best, and worst, flavors of chapsticks. Here’s my list, from best to worst:
This flavor is a part of ChapStick’s Holiday Collection which comes out every year. It can be bought by itself, in a three/four-pack, or in one of the Holiday Packs. It’s a peppermint-flavored chapstick that, once applied, leaves your lips slightly tingling with a cool, soothing sensation. It’s my absolute favorite! Nothing compares to that deliciously minty feeling, and my lips are always left feeling soft, smooth, and taken care of. Remember though, this flavor only comes out once a year, so if it also becomes your fan-favorite, stock up now!! (I’m not even kidding, I buy at least five four-packs during the month of November so that I have Candy Cane ChapStick all year).
Before I discovered Candy Cane ChapStick a couple of years ago, Cake Batter was my go-to. It’s sugary, sweet, and once again leaves your lips feeling perfectly soothed. It doesn’t have that fresh minty sensation that Candy Cane does, but it’s for sure the next best thing. Plus, it’s out year-round, so you’ll never NOT be able to find it in a store near you.
Once a seasonal flavor only, Vanilla Mint is back and is available year-round! It truly is the best of both worlds – And by both worlds, I mean numbers one and two on this very list. It combines the sugary sweet vanilla flavor of Cake Batter ChapStick with the minty freshness of Candy Cane ChapStick. I wouldn’t recommend it as my first choice, but if you can’t find Candy Cane or Cake Batter on the shelves, this one is the next best thing.
- Any Fruit-Flavored ChapStick
ChapStick makes a ton of fruit flavors, and they do so for a reason: They’re a classic and they sell well. While not my favorites, any of the fruit flavors rank pretty highly because they’re a solid, slightly sweet chapstick that, once again, leaves your lips feeling good. Some of the different fruit flavors include Green Apple, Juicy Grape, Watermelon Lime (my personal favorite of the fruit flavors!), Strawberry Ice Pop, Mango Sunrise, and Passion Fruit. There are a lot more, but these are just some of the most notable mentions.
- Anything Coffee- or Food-Flavored
An absolute no from me is any of the chapsticks that try to be coffee- or food-flavored. They’re just gross! I personally do not drink or like coffee, so maybe I’m biased, but I’m not sure even coffee-lovers would put these flavors on their must-get list. Some of these lesser flavors (in my opinion; maybe you’ll love them!) include Pumpkin Pie, Vanilla Latte, Caramel Macchiato, and Mint Mocha just to name a few.
One of the best things about ChapStick brand chapstick is that it’s available literally everywhere. From Target, Walmart, Amazon, to drug stores like Walgreens and CVS, there will almost always be some ChapStick for sale at the register.
