8 Awesome DIY Halloween Costumes
It’s that time of year when girls everywhere are scrambling to find Halloween costumes.
If you’re having trouble finding inspiration, check out some of these cool DIY ideas to
really stand out in the crowd!
1. Comic Book Character: For those who are skilled at doing makeup, grab the
foundation, eyeliner, and red lipstick. By using strategically applied lines and dots
to your face, you can make yourself look like you just popped out of the pages of
your favorite comic book! Don’t forget the colorful clothes with clean lines!
2. Pinata: Grab a tight dress and pin or glue different colored streamers onto your
dress! Don’t forget a tail and ears! Don’t attempt if you’re impatient; this costume
requires a lot of cutting and gluing.
3. Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Channel your inner Holly Golightly with this classy
costume. You probably already own an LBD, so pair that with long strands of
pearls, a tiara, and a black cigarette holder. Tame your hair into a high bun or fun
beehive and you’re ready to go.
4. Referee: Have fun handing out red cards at parties with this official costume.
Black shorts, a striped shirt and a baseball cap complete this costume. Score a few
extra points by adding a whistle, high socks, and a supply of red cards.
5. Risky Business: Take a risk in this costume inspired by young Tom Cruise. All
this costume requires is an oversize white button up, white tube socks, and black
Ray Bans. Make sure Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock n’ Roll” is playing when you
make your grand entrance.
6. 101 Dalmatians: For a quick easy group costume that can incorporate any number
of people, simply grab some white clothes you won’t mind ruining and paint
black spots on them. Don’t forget to make yourself some ears, paint your face,
and add a collar! Just watch out for Cruella.
7. KISS: For any classic rock fans out there, this costume puts a sexy take on the
band KISS. Wear tight, studded, shredded black clothing. Tease your hair, paint
your face, and make Gene Simmons proud.
8. Mickey and Minnie: Finally, for a cute and easy couple’s costume, grab your
special guy or gal and any red and black clothes you have. Simply cut out ears,
paste white polka dots on your Minnie dress, and you’re good to go.
