Something we students can all agree on is that we love saving money! Whether it beby finding out that the coat you’ve wanted from Topshop is now on sale or getting two-for-one drinks on a night out, there’s just something very satisfying about saving money.
When it comes to make-up it can be difficult to tell whether a cheap product is going to be good or not. I love it when I find a cheap make-up item that is amazing, but there’s nothing more frustrating than spending money on something that isn’t even worth the £5 you’ve spent on it!
Over the years I’ve slowly tried a variety of different products and have found some real gems! Here I wanted to share some of the products that I think anyone shopping for make-up on a budget should try out!
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19
This concealer is the best cheap concealer I’ve ever tried and I use it in my make-up routine everyday! It comes in four shades (fair, light, medium and deep) and, although it’s probably not great for darker skin tones, it’s perfect for people with a lighter skin tone. It provides excellent coverage and will cover up any spot very easily. I use this product underneath my eyes to hide those pesky dark circles, though I should warn you it does have a slight tendency to crease. It’s a great price and is definitely worth a try if you’re in the market for a new concealer!
Maybelline Falsies Mascara £7.99
I’m pretty sure that this is my favourite mascara. I say ‘pretty sure’ because I’m always trying out new ones (I’m kind of a mascara junky) but this product is one I always come back to. It gives both great volume and length, so none of this using one mascara for length and one for volume malarkey! There are three different versions of this mascara for some reason and the ‘Volume Express Falsies Flared’ one is my favourite. I’d 100% recommend this product to everyone!
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder £3.99
If you’re looking for a new powder that will keep your foundation in place and stop you looking shiny, this one is for you! It’s a brilliant price and is small enough to fit into your bag on a night out. This powder comes in translucent as well as five skin tone shades, so it’s easy to find a match to your foundation. My favourite thing about this powder is that it doesn’t look cakey or look like I have layers and layers of make-up on my face, something nobody wants!
Sleek Face Contour Kit £6.49
This Face Contour kit is one of the only cheap bronzers that I’ve tried that is well pigmented and isn’t really, really orangey! In the kit there is a highlighter and bronzer, and itcomea in light, medium and dark to suit different skin tones. The formula of these products is greatand isn’t too chalky or powdery.I would definitely recommend you try this product out if you’re in need of a new bronzer.
Maybelline EyestudioColour Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow£4.99
Last but by no means least, these cream eye shadows are amazing and are great to sweep over your lid for instant colour! You can use them as a base to help your eye shadow pop on a night out or use them on their own when you’re in a rush to get to that 9am lecture! There are nine different shades, all shimmery but not too over the top and perfect for everyday wear as well as a night out. The staying power is amazing and whether you’re experienced with make-up or just getting into it, you should absolutely try this eye product!
