The evening will kick off with a drinks reception in the Terrace from 6pm, followed by a black tie awards event in the Riley Smith Hall from 7.30pm. This will include live acts on stage and awards for each category. Â Groups can also book out extra space in either Old Bar or the Terrace, where the ceremony will be live steamed throughout the evening.Â
Molly Chappin, this year’s Social Secretary for Her Campus Leeds, can’t believe that the society has been shortlisted for Best New Society:
“It’s so great to see that all the hard work of all our amazing writers and the committee has paid off this year and it’s so surreal to be nominated for an award, can’t wait for the ceremony!”
Claire Williams, 2012/13 PR Secretary for Dance Exposé, is delighted that her society has been nominated for Best Show for the second year in a row:
“We’re thrilled! The society and the committee put in a lot of hard work and a lot of late nights into making Nine to Five with Backstage. We think it’s our biggest and best show yet and it feels great to have that recognised with a nomination. We’re also really excited about performing at the Rileys again this year – the opening of the show is going to be huge…”
Meanwhile, Former LUU Scout and Guide Society President Caroline Bryce is really proud that Mighty Leeds Pantomime Rally has been nominated for Best Event this year:
“The feedback and smiles we got were rewarding but to be shortlisted for a Riley is a fantastic achievement and well deserved recognition for everyone’s dedication to the event”.
The evening will also involve the presentation of the LUU Lifetime Achievement Award, and the awards for Best in Category and Best Society. Â HC Leeds will be live-tweeting throughout the night, so keep an eye on @hercampusleeds for all the latest updates. And of course, keep all of your fingers and associated digits crossed for us to win our very first award!
