Paris is undeniably one of the most visited capitals in Europe, thanks to its unique beauty and great number of monuments. With something to suit everyone, it is the ideal destination for lovers of sightseeing and art, people who fancy entertainment, and it is the dream of every child to visit Disneyland.
It is a fact that the symbol of Paris is the Eiffel Tower. You have the valuable opportunity to get a breathtaking view of the city by going up the tower. It has three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and second floors. I highly recommend you to go up to the third floor, which is 276 metres above the ground, while the tower has a height of 324 metres.Â
Another famous sight in Paris is the Arc de Triomphe, which is the biggest arc in the world. It overlooks the Champs-ElysĂ©es. Moreover, the Arc de Triomphe was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 to celebrate his victory at Austerlitz. The cathedral Notre Dame de Paris is also worth a visit. Indeed, it is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, situated at the end of the Ăle de la CitĂ©. You can admire the cathedralâs stained glass and rose windows, the towers, and discover the Notre-Dameâs treasures. By climbing its towers, you are also able to enjoy a panoramic view of Paris.
My favourite spot in Paris is Montmartre, as you can get an amazing view of Paris from there. Montmartre is famous for Basilique de SacrĂ©-Coeur. In a Roman-Byzantine style, SacrĂ©-Coeur is recognisable by its white colour. At the bottom of the hill is the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret. Furthermore, you can take a walk at the Place du Tertre, where you can have your portrait sketched as well as taste a delicious crĂȘpe.
Paris has a wide range of museums, which cater to all tastes. The MusĂ©e du Louvre is one of the biggest museums in the world â with its collections spread over eight departments. It has antiquities from around the world, paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings. The MusĂ©e dâ Orsay is internationally famous for its rich collection of impressionist art, while the Pompidou Centre, with its unique, modern and timeless architecture, offers its visitors a really beautiful view of Paris. The Pompidou Centre displays the masterpieces of some of the most famous figures in modern art.
You can count on magic-filled moments in the theme parks of Paris. Even big kids can have an unforgettable time in Disneyland. It has more than 50 attractions, shows and parades. Indiana Jones and Pirates of Caribbean are among the most famous attractions of Disneyland. âParc AstĂ©rixâ is another theme park of Paris, where you can get a taste of what it is like to live the life of a Gaul.
Overall, Paris is home of unique monuments and some of the most-visited museums in the world. It has some of the largest fashion houses in the world, as well as famous theme parks, which attract a great deal of visitors every year. As Hilaire Belloc has said: âWe wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillmentâ. Bon voyage!
