Looking to get more involved on campus? Nothing says ‘perfect candidate’ like some extracurriculars under your belt and on your resume. Not to mention a great way to meet new friends and expand your network in the Lehigh community. Lehigh has over 150 clubs and organizations on campus, and new ones are being created every semester! With so many options, how’s a girl to choose just a few? Here are some, in my opinion, of the most underrated organizations on campus.
1. Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is one of the newest clubs on campus, establishing an official university organization this semester. Habitat for Humanity works with the Lehigh Valley affiliate to build, educate, fundraise, and advocate for change on Lehigh’s campus and in the Bethlehem and Allentown area. If you want to make a huge difference in the lives of our neighbors, join H4H. Just want to look cute in a hard hat? That works too.

2. Challah for Hunger
In honor of Yom Kippur coming up, let’s show some love to our Jewish friends on campus! Challah for Hunger is an organization that bakes homemade Challah and donates the proceeds to Meals on Wheels and American Jewish World Service. Even if you don’t decide to join the club, make sure to order some Challah in the Upper UC when it goes on sale!

3. The Mustard & Cheese Drama Society
The M&C is one of Lehigh’s theatre groups on campus, putting on amazing theatrical performances for the Lehigh community. They put on multiple shows a semester, with weekend and weeknight performances, as well as Sunday matinees. The M&C also hosts Wednesday Wing Nights, where weeknight performances meet their perfect match with wings before the show. Sound like it’s too good to be true? Check it out this Wednesday at 8pm with their performance of The Effects of Gamma Rays on Man-In-The-Moon Miracles (from one of the actresses in the show – weird name, normal story… you be the judge).

4. Lehigh Says NO MORE
NO MORE is another new organization on campus with the goal to normalize conversations surrounding issues of domestic violence and sexual assault. Lehigh Says NO MORE will be promoting their message through fundraising events, campus wide awareness activities, and their own Lehigh-based campaign of public service announcements to get our students and staff involved. We’re excited to see what this organization has in store to make Lehigh a more equitable community!

5. University Productions (UP)
University Productions is the main entertainment organization at Lehigh, planning all of the large-scale undergraduate social activities on campus. Basically if Iggy ever shows up at Lehigh, UP was probably behind it (wait, can we actually make that happen?). UP is responsible for planning the big events on campus, like our Spring Concert and Lehigh-Lafapalooza, and the smaller events, like comedy shows and free movie screening in Whittaker every Friday and Saturday night. Being a member of this club means having a say in the big-name entertainment that comes to campus, backstage passes at the events, and a ton of free stuff. Need I say more?
