Valentine’s Day is here again, and so is the struggle of deciding what the plan is for the big night. Fortunately, there are so many options around here, so there’s no need to worry- no matter what, it’ll be one to remember.
1. Go on a dinner date
With dozens of restaurants within walking distance of campus and the Promenades less than a 15 minute Uber away, going out to dinner with your boo seems to be the most practical option if you’re looking for something to do. Tonight is not the night to save a few bucks by hitting McDonald’s- Valentine’s only comes once a year, so it’s time to go all out.
2. Watch a movie
Word is that the new 50 Shades is a must see. If you or your significant other isn’t so into movie theaters, there are tons on Netflix that’ll suffice. There’s no shame in staying in and watching the Office for the night.
3. Watch the sunset
If you’ve never been to the Lookout, now is the time. Sitting in the middle of the hill is the coolest place to chill and watch the sunset as the city lights up and the stars come out (looks great on the snap story). Bring snacks or hot chocolate if you’re feeling it and sit on the rock wall for a couple hours- appreciate the beauty of the rainbow SteelStacks and the way the light hits the Sands Casino logo just right.
4. Eat tons of chocolate
It’s a known fact that the calories won’t count on Valentines Day, so have that extra chocolate or two (or the whole box if it’s that kind of night).
5. Go ice skating
Nothing screams V-Day more than a romantic trip to the local ice rink. Less than half a mile from campus, it’s the perfect solution for a quick and easy date idea. Stop by the cup on the way there and make a night out of it. Go with friends or your bae- either way it’s a never-fail option.
