Hey Potential New Members (PNM)! Now that finals are finally over (thank goodness), and formal recruitment is right around the corner, you may be wondering what you should wear. The first thing to remember is to always dress in a way that expresses your personality and style. I really encourage you to wear what you like to wear, not what other people want you to wear. Additionally, wear outfits that are comfortable for you. Here’s a guide on what to wear for each round of rush!
Round One:
The first two days of rush is round one. This round is the most casual. Your Rho Gam will give you a t-shirt that you’re required to wear both days. They aren’t the most stylish shirts, but with a little bit of creativity, you can definitely dress it up to express your personal style. You can do this by playing up the accessories! Don’t forget to wear a warm coat too. You don’t need to worry about carrying it around either because there will be a coat check at every house.
Round 2 (Philanthropy Round):
For philanthropy round, I suggest you wear a casual outfit that you love. Think of outfit you would wear to mall with your friends or a cute outfit that you would wear to class. I love to wear the sweater and boots combo. It’s warm, comfy, and cute. There are so many endless possibilities for this round.

Round 3 (Skit Round):
For the fourth day of formal recruitment, pick a nice outfit that you would wear to dinner with your boyfriend’s parents. Think cute and classy for this round. Pair a nice blouse with a pair of dark jeans. You can also go with a shirt and a skirt or even a stylish dress. Dress up your outfit with your favorite shoes and accessories. Get creative with what you have in your closet!
Round 4 (Preference Round):
Pref night is one of the most exiting rounds of rush and definitely a really unforgettable night. This is also your last chance to make a lasting impression on your favorite house so don’t be afraid to go all out! This round is semiformal so go for a trendy and classy dress and some statement pieces like bib necklaces, shiny bracelets, and metallic belts. I would also recommend wearing comfortable heels for this night.
All and all, what you wear during rush doesn’t make or break your chances at getting into a house. Be yourself and wear what makes you feel the most confident and comfortable. If you have any questions on what is appropriate to wear for any round of formal recruitment, don’t hesitate to ask your Rho Gammas because they’re always more than willing to help. See you all in January! Go Greek!
