Affordable Holiday Gift Guide 2020

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LMU chapter.

As the holiday season draws near, so does the hunt to find the most perfect, affordable gift for those you love! This gift guide lists off gifts for every person in your life—all under $50!

Gold Initial Necklace

This necklace is a great statement piece. I have one from Anthropologie, but I know you can also find cheaper ones off of Etsy and Amazon. I think this is a necklace anyone who loves jewelry would love to receive! It really adds a little something extra to an outfit.

Avocado Hugger

This avocado saver is only about $10 from HealthNut Shop online. It seems to be so practical, especially if someone you know is a huge avocado fan! You can easily store and save your avocados with this tool and produce less waste.

Matching Sweat Set

With being at home so often, how could you go wrong with sweats? And a cute, trendy matching outfit? Even better! This one is from Target for 44 dollars in total. So! Cute!

Hometown/Sports Team Hat

I feel like you can never go wrong with gifting someone a hat, especially your dad. This particular one is from Portland Gear and would make a great gift for a Portland native. Hats are relatively cheap, this one being around $22 right now.

Yeti Insulated Tumbler

If your dad is a big coffee drinker, think about getting him a Yeti. They keep your drink hot/cold and are very portable for on-the-go hot coffee in the morning.

3-in-1 Wireless Charger Station

For those in our lives who are always using the latest and greatest Apple products, a 3-in-1 charging dock would be such a useful gift! I found similar ones to the photo above on Amazon for around $26.

Funny Candle

In the winter, candles are a MUST to feel cozy and to keep your room smelling good. Why not get one with a funny saying? I know for me, lighting a candle helps me calm down and take a deep breath when I’m feeling anxious. Candles are always a go-to gift when I’m buying for friends!

Oversized Sweatshirt

There’s no better feeling than putting on a comfy, new sweatshirt. I really think oversized sweatshirts have become a staple in my wardrobe for both the warmth factor in the fall/winter season and the style element it brings to an outfit. Gifting someone a sweatshirt is always a smart idea.

Protein Powder

This may seem like an odd gift, but if you know someone who has been working on their fitness and nutrition—protein powder makes for a great gift. Many companies have fun holiday flavors right now that are available for cheap at stores like Costco. If you want to add more to this gift make it a fitness basket with protein power, workout headbands, a cute water bottle, and whatever else you think that workout-buff would love!

Hydroflask Water Bottle

Yes, these water bottles are still all the rage! I think giving a Hydroflask as a gift is always a good idea—especially if it’s for someone who works out a lot or loves hiking in the outdoors. These tend to be a little on the pricier side but last so long that I think spending a few extra bucks is worth it. You can shop online to find whatever size fits your needs! 18-32 oz water bottles will still remain under that $45 budget.

GameStop/PlayStation Gift Card

For the gamer in your family! Games and the consoles themselves can really add up, so the smart decision is to simply buy a gift card with whatever amount on it that you prefer. That way your loved one can decide what to spend the money on.

Graphic Tees

You can never have enough t-shirts in your closet…at least that’s my philosophy. T-shirts make for an easy, cute gift that anyone would like to receive. Urban Outfitters has a great selection with many fun designs and bright colors.

Hopefully, this gift guide gave a little inspiration for what to buy this year for all the close people in your life. Happy holidays and happy shopping!
