Affordable Skin Care Products for Dry Skin

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LMU chapter.

Let’s be honest, having amazing skin is the best thing ever. But it seems like in order to have the perfect skin care routine you need to have high end products that will break your bank account. I am here to tell you that is not true. I personally have very dry, sensitive skin and these are my absolute favorite and cheap skin care products! Keep in mind that you can add any of these products to your routine to make it work for you!

1. Simple Moisturizing Face Wash ($4.89)

This is my personal favorite face wash. The “Simple” brand is great for sensitive skin and this moisturizing face wash gets all the dirt off, leaving fresh skin!

2. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter ($3.92)

Let me just say that this cocoa butter smells AMAZING! Aside from that it is extremely thick and moisturizes so well. I use it day and night but don’t forget in the morning to put on sunscreen after!

3. Face Mask ($)

This brand has so many amazing face masks but if you need hydration and moisturizing then this is the mask for you. This one is a paper mask (the cheapest option) but they also have a tube of it that lasts a long time for about $15. I find it is gentle and essentially could be used everyday and is extremely refreshing!

4.St Ive’s Green Tea Face Scrub/ Exfoliant ($3.64)

With dry and sensitive skin it is still important to exfoliate! I love this exfoliator mainly because it is so gentle for my sensitive skin. I like to use it about every other day and gently massage on my face. When you wash it off you have soft skin and no irritation.

5. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Toner ($4.89)

Toner is especially important for minimizing pores and leaves your face feeling refreshed. I like to soak a cotton pad in witch hazel and gently rub all over my face after I remove my makeup and wash my face. Do this morning and night for your best fresh face!

6. Coconut Oil ($15)

Coconut Oil is my holy grail product. I am in love with this one from Trader Joe’s but if this is a little too much money there are plenty of jars of coconut oil available from a regular grocery store that work just fine. Coconut Oil can be used for so many things (go look at pinterest). I personally use it for two things. I use it to take off my makeup every night and find that it gently removes my eye makeup, including waterproof mascara, without irritating my skin. I also use it as a moisturizer for my face at night after my other creams or all over my body! It can also be great as a hair mask!
