Don’t let not going home for the holidays be an excuse to miss out on being festive this season. Whether you’re staying in LA during winter break for a job, love interest, or happen to live in the city of angels, we’ve currated a list of the most fun activities to bring you a little holiday cheer.
1. Visit The Grove
The Grove is an outdoor shopping center in West Hollywood that spares no expense decorating for the holidays. If you haven’t visited yet, now is the time as you will surely leave in the holiday spirit. Bonus: this is the perfect place for a one-stop shop for all of the people on your Christmas (or Hannukah, Kwanza, and Christmukahh) list.
2. Take a Trip to Disneyland
What better thing to do with that money from your Grandparents (they don’t really mean you shouldn’t spend it all in one place) than treat yourself to a festive day of childhood fun? Leave it to the imagineers to make Christmas come alive!
3. Marina Del Rey Holiday Boat Parade
On Saturday, December 13th ,head down to the marina for their annual boat parade. Participants light up their boats for a holiday show to remember! Make this a date night or fun activity with friends by grabbing dinner on the marina beforehand.
4. Ice Skating at LA Live or Downtown Santa Monica
Grab your mittens, hats, and knee high socks for a fun night of ice skating! No matter your skill level (let’s be honest, some of us still need to hold onto the side), ice skating is the perfect activity for a night full of laughter that will put you in the holiday spirit.
6. Continue Holiday Traditions
If you normally love to make peppermint hot cocoa and drive around your neighborhood looking at Christmas lights, do it! Just because you may not be home with your family, continue your holiday traditions here or, better yet, make new ones!
