‘This is Your Sign!’ is Your Next Favorite Clothing Line Dedicated to Mental Health

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LMU chapter.

We’ve all been taking quarantine day by day. Maybe you picked up a hobby, started a new job or internship, or took some classes. But Rya Partible, a freshman Cinematography and Film/Video Production major at Loyola Marymount University, started her own company: This Is Your Sign!

I love clothing pieces that have meaning; it makes me feel good, confident, happier, more inspired, and so on. However, as Rya noticed, the market lacks an offering of companies dedicated to positive and inspiring clothing pieces that were also affordable and accessible to a wide range of people. Rya took it into her own hands to fill this void, and This Is Your Sign (TIYS) was born. Focused on mental health, TIYS was created with the intention to bring more light into the world and make people smile. The simple yet trendy graphics were designed with the hope to spur meaningful conversations and to make those who wear it shine brighter. Simply put, as she states on her website, Rya’s desire is that “when people wear TIYS, [they will] be emblems of light and positivity in a world that desperately needs it.”

The brand doesn’t just stop at clothing though. Rya calls it a movement: “a movement of [our] generation to uplift those around us and to inspire our communities.” To assist in this vision, a portion of the profits from each TIYS launch are donated to different suicide prevention outreach and research centers. You can also find informative, cute, and motivating graphics on the TIYS Instagram, which has been creatively designed to be visually appealing and inspiring. TIYS frequently does mental health check-ins with their audience too, so everyone has the opportunity to feel loved, seen, and supported!

Check out the different collections below:

The Logo Collection

Offered as a t-shirt, crewneck, or face mask, the Logo Collection presents a simple graphic saying, “This is your sign! You are doing just fine” to serve as a powerful and effective reminder to its audience. The featured color of the collection, green, was intentional in that it is symbolic of growth on both an individual level and a societal level. Green is also the color of mental health and suicide prevention. A portion of the proceeds from this collection is donated to the Loveland Foundation, which offers financial support to Black women seeking therapy.

Tell Them You Love Them

Tell them you love them, life is too short not to. This collection is offered as a hoodie or t-shirt, and it is centered around the message to not take life for granted. Life is abundant, lively, and beautiful, and it is so full of love. It’s also unpredictable. Thus, it’s extremely essential to not take life and love for granted and to “tell them you love them.” 15% of the proceeds from the Tell Them You Love Them collection are donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. (Side note: I ordered the hoodie in blue and absolutely love it!!)

It Won’t Be Like This Forever

It Won’t Be Like This Forever is the most recent drop from TIYS and features an adorable graphic and powerful message on a comfy crewneck. As stated on the website, “‘it won’t be like this forever’ is a positive refrain, reminding us that better times are still coming. On another note, if life is going amazing for you, cherish that. We’re all growing up and time is moving fast.” It won’t be like this forever, so enjoy every moment you can. Staying consistent with the brand’s focus, 15% of the profits from this launch are donated to mental health research.

I’m so inspired and excited by this company and everything it is doing for the world, and I sincerely hope you will be too. I love how genuine and loving its message is, and it’s a bonus that the pieces have the cutest graphics!
