I have been to countless animal enclosures in my life, including either zoos or aquariums. Being a well traveled college kid, I have been to zoos all throughout the US. Here are the best zoos I have visited that I feel were the best I’ve seen around the world. Â
1. In mid 2018, I went to the San Diego Zoo in San Diego with my fiance. We spent the better part of a day walking around and saw every exhibit. It is rated as the best Zoo in the world by the majority of people. There were so many great sights and I think it was my favorite.Â
2. On New Year’s Day this year, my fiance and I went to Dallas World Aquarium. Even though it was called an aquarium, it was much more zoo-ish. It was in the heart of downtown so it was very accessible. We spent a couple hours walking around the building. It was many layers on top of each other and had a unique design.
3. In Belgium, for a school biology field trip, I visited Pairi Daiza. This zoo is massive. I remember we spent the entire day there, and I did not even see the entire zoo. It is almost twice as big as the San Diego Zoo, was in the middle of nowhere, and we had to drive for quite some time to get to it. Because of this, they were able to have countless enclosures of ecosystems for different animals. Â
4. Last but not least, when I was in Las Vegas for my fiance’s birthday, we went to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. What made this experience unique was that there was a seafood restaurant right outside of it. I thought that was a little suspect, and don’t think I could eat from there.
Although these were not all of the enclosures that I have been to, I think they were the most memorable. The zoo that I think I enjoyed most of all was the San Diego Zoo. I hope you all find some incredible experiences at zoos and make your own memories!
