There’s always plenty of things to do all year-round, but there’s something special about the fall that brings a sense of togetherness. From my heart to yours, here’s a bucket list of things you might find yourself wanting to do this fall.

  • Pumpkin Carving! –

Find a BIG pumpkin (or at least one that you can carry without throwing your back out). Look on Pinterest. Think of the things you love most whether it’s a television show, a cute or scary monster, or maybe even something in every-day life such as cats and dogs. You cand find the cheapest pumpkin carving kit at either Five-Below, Dollar Tree, or Dollar General (all pricing at about $3.00). Make sure you have a table cloth underneath for the mess, a hand rag nearby, a big spoon to help dig all the gunk out, and a candle small enough to fit inside once your masterpiece is finished!

  • Coffee! –

There are all kinds of coffee shops in this world whether it’s Starbucks, a local coffee shop, or coffee from the store to make at home. You need to try a new flavor! Be bold, be unique, be daring. You only live this life once. Don’t be scared to try new things. You never know what you like unless you try it. If you’re making it from scratch, Pinterest is a girl’s best friend (for anything really).

  • Dress up for Halloween! – Never say you’re too old. You don’t have to go trick-or-treating, but maybe try and find a costume party to attend or just throw your own! It can be fun for a couple’s costumes, friend’s costumes, or just going solo. You can also find ideas on Pinterest. Be creative, let your wild side out, and have fun while you still can.

  • Decorate your house/apartment/dorm –

It’s always fun to decorate. My favorite place to buy decor is Hobby Lobby, and the best time to buy fall items is when they do their yearly 40% off almost everything. If you want to go a cheaper route, there’s always Dollar Tree, Dollar General, or maybe even a local store that has seasonal items. The possibilities are endless with decorating! You can have candles, leaves, garlands, lights, pumpkins, and more. While you’re out looking for fall decorations, you might be able to find Christmas decorations on sale as well.

  • Have a Halloween movie marathon- It’s always the best when you take a nice warm shower, get in fuzzy pajama pants with a big t-shirt, and either invite your friends over or stay home to enjoy some classic movies. My recommendations are Halloweentown(all of them), Hocus Pocus, The Haunted Mansion, and then if you REALLY like scary movies you might just enjoy any scary movie for Halloween!

  • Stargaze- Stargazing is so much fun! But it’s even better in the winter when you don’t have to worry about bugs eating at you and flying all around. What my parents did for me (and I think everyone should do at least once) is that they bought an inflatable kiddie pool, aired it up, and then filled it with blankets and pillows for us to have while stargazing in our backyard. If you live in the city, maybe try driving to the countryside to admire the stars (as long as you aren’t trespassing anywhere).

  • Photo Shoot – I LOVE taking pictures of people for a photoshoot. I don’t do it as a hobby to make money, but I do have fun with my friends (taking turns who takes the pictures and whatnot). The cheap route is to let your friends do it, although, there are a lot of people everywhere (probably even in your community) that do it as a hobby or as a living. Either choice you make, it’s always nice to take extra outfits, extra shoes, a blanket, and a few miscellaneous things such as flowers and drinks. Don’t be in a big rush to do all of these things. Think about where you want to do it, and make sure the weather will agree with your plans. You can do it in the city, in the country, in a field, a pumpkin patch, or an apple orchard.

  • Enjoy a nice campfire- There’s no better way I’d rather spend my night when I go home to see my parents. We bundle up in hoodies and leggings, grab some hot chocolate and marshmallows, and sit by the fire just enjoying the moment. If you don’t have a campfire site, there are safe ways of making one inside that you can find on Pinterest.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to do one of these activities yet, I highly recommend it. Remember to be safe (wear your mask #2020), have fun, and enjoy the life you have while you still can.
