So Giselle, how would you describe your style?
I think I lean a little retro with accessories, like my shoes or a belt, but for the most part I’m mixing and matching basics. I have a lot of simple tees and blouses. You’d be surprised how you can use one favorite shirt in multiple great outfits! Also, boots. So many boots.
Do you have a way of reconciling staying fashionable with how cold it will inevitably get out here?
Anyone who’s spent a winter out here knows that there are days you just don’t care about how cute you look. Besides those days, I love my Pashmina scarves. Especially the few patterned ones that I have, it’s a way that I can keep warm and also spice up my look a little at the same time. I’ve found that having different scarves is a cheaper way to change the look of an outfit, as opposed to buying a bunch of coats.
What’s a rule you can tell us about your style that you follow when you’re out shopping?
It’s all about fit, for me. If it doesn’t fit just right, I don’t feel comfortable and I think that translates in how I carry myself. If you find a great pair of pants, buy it in different colors! In the end it’s about feeling good about yourself right? For me, when I’m comfortable and cute, I’m happiest.
