After spending five days at the Big Apple, we would like to share our experience in some of the places that we enjoyed the most!
Just about two weeks ago, we went to New York for spring break. We stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriot Hotel in Times Square Manhattan, which was a great experience because of the amount of touristic sites that we had close by. Some of these locations were Times Square. Bryant Park, The Summit, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Broadway, and much more. After spending five days in the Big Apple, we would like to share our experience in some of the places that we enjoyed the most!
1. Summit One Vanderbilt
Rate: 10/10
“The Summit” as many of the locals call it, is one of the top tallest commercial skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan. When we arrived, there wasn’t that much of a waiting line, we saw a video that introduced the experience of being 1,063 feet above the streets of New York with all of the reflections that surrounded the tourists. The first floor that the experience offers is filled with a panoramic view of Manhattan and mirrors in all the possible angles. We were fascinated by the amount of mirrors and reflections that we saw of each other. It was like feeling and optical massage. After that, we went into a room that had some pieces of art made from the same artists that did the big mirror room. Finally, we arrived at the last room that our tickets offered, which was filled with mirrors and balloons that showed our reflections. We consider this experience as one that can only be experienced in New York, it is worth seeing, for taking pictures, laughing, having a panoramic view of the city, and much more.
MOMA Museum
Rate: 8/10
The Museum of Modern Art also located in midtown Manhattan attracts nearly 2 million visitors per year. It offers art pieces from recognized artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Picasso, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock, and much more. This museum is great, it offers a great experience for those who love modern artists, for us it was a good experience that we loved, but as we are not that into modern art. we didn’t get the meaning of some pieces, for which we can say that our rating is biased. However, would we go again? Yes, it is definitely a place for you to visit with your friend and view in person some of the most famous art pieces that exist in the planet, such as the Starring Night, Les Demoiselles D’Avignon.
Times Square:
Rate: 9.5/10
Times square is the heart of New York City, where you can find entertainment, shopping and dining options galore. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, Times Square is a must-see destination. You have everything you need in Times Square. They have amazing shops of all kinds, restaurants in every place , hotdog stands that are amazing shows at night in which people dance or do activities and a bunch of people surround them to see those amazing shows. You can go for walks and see all those tall buildings, the billboards and the lights. That’s why they call it the city of dreams. It’s active, dynamic, emotional and sensational. One of my favorite things we did in Times Square was going to “Carlos Bakery” where we tried delicious desserts. Such as a Tiramisu & a Funfetti rainbow cake. After that we went to a big M&M’s store in which they have all the m&m’s you could imagine and all the merchandise you could ever wish for for. Overall Times Square is an amazing place to visit with family and friends.
Color Factory:
Rate: 10/10
“Color factory” is an art exhibit centered on colors, featuring playful participatory installations in separate rooms. My experience in this place was actually amazing. Since the moment you enter the installations they have the nicest people welcome you. Each room has a different experience. This was by far my best activity while visiting New York and such an incredible experience. You should definitely go because it’s such an interesting and special occasion. The staff there are wonderful, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I would adore returning! For example my favorite activity was in a room that contained a huge ball pit in which you could take photos, slide into the ball pit, enjoy complimentary ice cream of any flavor you wanted, and before you left they gave you a free gift of your choice. Other examples can be there was a room scattered with confetti and there are numerous cameras that are activated by QR cards that you scan to receive them. You can capture as many pictures as you want! There are other rooms: one with headphones for music listening and dancing with gold on the walls; another with light-changing walls that display various pictures; and the last one has two sound xylophones and color harmonizing on the wall.
