All girls want their makeup to last longer. But, primers can do more than just extend the wear of a foundation. They can protect you from the sun, add hydration, blur imperfections, reduce oil, and even fill pores. Here five primers that anyone can try for multiple concerns. Enjoy~
Â
1. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
This primer will blur and perfect even the most noticeable imperfection. It creates a smooth canvas for the best foundation application. It’s oil free and wont clog pores, and creates a very smooth finish. You can get it at Sephora for $16. I recommend getting the mini size for two reasons. 1) If you have never used a new face product, it is important to try it out to see how your skin reacts. 2) The mini has .5o oz while the full size has 1 oz, meaning that mini is actually cheaper. If you add up 16 and 16, it’s $32! Safe yourself four dollars, and get yourself a miniature size.Â

2. Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Primer
Murad is known for their skincare. But, it’s also a wonderful primer. If you’re looking for something gentle that also has the added benefit of protecting your skin from the sun, then this is worth the hefty price tag. This primer is important because, if you are using a foundation that has “HD” in the title, it’s highly unlikely that there is any sun protection in it at all (unless you are using one that specifically says it has SPF broad spectrum protection). Foundations such as Makeup Forever HD Foundation (what I use) don’t have sun protection in them. This primer also creates a smooth canvas, blurs imperfections, and protects your skin. This is a really nice primer for the summer time. You can get this at Sephora for $65.Â

3. Benefit POREfessional Face Primer
Do you have problem pores? I sure do. Right next to my nose I have large pores and I am not a fan. You don’t need a lot of this product for it to work. I like to put it just where I have large pores. I recommend patting it in instead of rubbing it in, this way, it fills your pores and gives you a completely smooth complexion. You can get this primer at Sephora for $31 (if you only use it to cover your problem areas, it should last forever).Â

4. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water
This is for someone who wants a less intense experience with primer. It is very light, and doesn’t smooth as much as it hydrates. If you have very dry skin, I would recommend this. It also acts as a setting spray, so you get a 2-in-1! Get it at Sephora for $16.
Â
5. Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer
This is for someone who may get oily. Apply this on the T-Zone, or anywhere you don’t want to be shiny. This will also help with evening the skin tone and hydrating your skin. Yay for hydration! Buy this at Sephora for $37.

I know that all of these primers are pricey, but almost all of them come in small sizes. Sephora is also great with samples, so go in and ask! It’s important to try before you buy. These primers are wonderful, last a long time, and keep your makeup on all day long.Â
