Ever since moving to NYC for college, I have appreciated the mini bag more and more. It’s more secure, less of a hassle and sometimes I even forget it’s on me! Throughout my college career, I have created a collection of my favorite mini bags, all different styles, sizes and colors. Whether I want it to complement my outfit, carry my wallet while dancing the night away, or simply give me more hands to carry groceries, the mini bag does it all. Here are my four favorites and must-have mini bags!

Over winter break, I discovered the UNIQLO Round Mini Shoulder Bag while shopping at the Roosevelt Mall. It automatically caught my eye and I kept going back to it despite my need for another mini bag. I ended up buying it and I have not regretted it to this day. This bag is so spacious…like seriously! It has 2 little pockets on the inside for little things like chapstick and keys and the rest is open space for all the bigger items. I got it in a natural color, but it also comes in black, pink, beige, green, yellow, navy and light blue. If you’re looking for an affordable bag that is an easy transition to a mini size, this is the one for you!

If you’re looking for a simple, go-to mini handbag, I highly recommend this one from Amazon. It was the very first one I bought in college and has made my city adventures so much easier. It’s chic, fits perfectly over the shoulder and no one would ever guess you bought it on Amazon. I grab this one whether I am getting brunch with my girls or bar hopping. While it does not fit much more than your phone, wallet and a few smaller items, it’s a great essentials bag.

While a little on the pricey side, my last must-have mini bag I recently got for my birthday and I have found myself grabbing it the most ever since. I absolutely love that it has three separate compartments, yet is still a mini bag. On top of that, you can wear it either as a crossbody or a fanny pack! It has a good amount of room in it and is more on the stylish side, which lets me pair it with more outfits. I have it in black, but it also comes in other plain colors, metallic colors and a couple of patterns.

Mini bags are the new “it” bag. They are simple, fit all the essentials and are easy to pair with outfits. There are so many different styles, colors and fits of mini bags, depending on your needs. I absolutely love the ones I have and shared with you above and don’t see myself going back to the normal-sized purse for a while.
