HC: What do you think makes you stand out from the rest of Marist?
AT: I stand out from the rest of Marist because I like the path less traveled. Â I enjoy the challenge of doing things by myself. Â I also think that I have the right mixture of weirdness, intelligence, athleticism and humor to help me fit into a majority of friend groups.
HC: Now onto some of the tough questions. Why did you choose Marist?
AT: I chose Marist because I had enough credits to do the double major that I wanted to. Â Other than that, I mean, have you been outside here? The campus is beautiful and the Hudson Valley is an amazing region to experience all the seasons.
HC: What is your favorite thing about college?
My favorite thing about college is the freedom to choose anything.  Maybe I want to buy SpaghettiOs for dinner, who’s going to stop me? I got to choose my friends, my classes, clubs, and intramurals.
HC: What are you involved with at Marist?
AT: I am one of the Entertainment Directors at MCTV. Â Unlike most that work in the studio, I am involved mostly with field production of PSAs, ads and special events like Foxapalooza.
HC: Very nice! Â How did you get involved with MCTV?
AT: I got involved with MCTV my freshman year because I thought it would “look good on my resume.”  After the past three years I could care less about how it enhances my resume because it is so much fun and filled with tons of interesting and talented individuals.
Â
HC: How would you like to see MCTV impact Marist?
AT: I want to see people have the ability to express themselves through telling stories and be able to share those stories with everyone else (as cheesy as that sounds).
Â
HC: Tell us about what you do outside of Marist.
AT: Outside of Marist I hang out with my friends from home (love those guys).  Last summer I worked in the world of advertising at J. Walter Thompson, which was a crazy experience for me. I also love my family and it’s always a blast when we get together.
Â
HC: Do you have any plans yet for after college?
AT: Yikes. I know I should have an idea right now but basically I am applying to every job in every field in every city in the hopes that I get enough offers to make a good decision about how the rest of my life is going to go.
Â
HC: What’s your favorite memory of Marist so far?
AT: I have a lot of memories at this school but my favorites are always walking on the empty, snowy streets late at night with my friends (perhaps a little buzzed). Â The winter, the quiet and the snow combined are just so peaceful.
Â
HC: Reflecting on the past four years, do you have any advice for freshmen class?
AT: My advice for the freshman is hang-in there because dorms suck.  Your whole life and experience changes the second you move into a bigger living space, you have no idea.  Other advice? I would say do what you like. Don’t let people stop you from doing stuff because you might be the only one that’s doing it.  Lastly, don’t be mean to people or gossip.  This school is small enough where everyone knows someone that you’re talking about, so tread lightly.
