This Tuesday was the MPorium Grand Opening for the spring semester. Students in the Retail Entrepreneurship class operate the student-run boutique in Donnelly Hall, encompassing four divisions: Buying, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, and Store Operations. The class buyers decide which products to carry in the store, placing purchase orders with their open-to-buy budgets. The visual merchandising team designs the store layout, creating an in-store environment that is aesthetically pleasing and easy to shop. The marketing team designs both digital and print campaigns (follow them on Instagram @maristmporium). The store operations team manages the day-to-day operations and the store’s finances. We visited the grand opening event this week, and had blast shopping the new arrivals! River + Stone, the private label brand sold exclusively at MPorium, also had new designs. Product offerings ranged from bath & beauty, jewelry and home ware. MPorium is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10:30-5:00; make sure you stop buy to find your favorite pieces!
