Did you notice all the stuff going on this past week on the MSC plaza? CAB and Thunder did a plethora of events, as well as various others who set up tables. The week was actually called Thunder week, and was a way for students involved in the organization to get the word out about Thunder, a 24 hour dance marathon that will occur in April at the Cam Henderson Center. All the proceeds made from this week will go towards the grand total (announced at the marathon) and will be donated to pediactric cancer.Â
Day one of Thunder was for pictures with Marco and the dance team. Those who got their picture taken were able to dress in silly costumes and their picture was featured on the Thunder page on Facebook.Â
Members of the Thunder dance committee knew all the words to Shake It Off by Taylor Swift by the end of the day on Tuesday. The song was played on repeat (loudly on the plaza) and students could donate to have a different song played. Every $5 reached, Thunderstruck by ACDC was played.Â
The infamous hot dog costume was worn by various members of the committee on Wednesday to advertise the free hot dogs that were being given out. Donations were taken and the committee asked that you “like” their Facebook page or retweet their tweet in order to receive a hot dog.Â
The slogan for the dance marathon is “For the kids” (FTK). On Thursday, jousting was available, for free, to all students so they could “fight” for the kids! Donations were also taken this day, and many students enjoyed destroying their opponenent in a friendly joust.Â
