As fall is well under way, every college student’s favorite holiday is quickly approaching: Halloween. The leaves start falling, pumpkin carving begins, and everyone rushes to find a cute, cheap costume. To get in the Halloween spirit, here are a few themed cocktails that will start your Halloweekend off right!
1. Candy Corn Cocktail
This drink is a perfect drink to sip while getting ready for a Halloween party, or a drink to order at the bar.
First, combine 2 oz. of SKYY Infusions Pineapple and 1 oz. of pineapple juice with ice. Pour mixture over ice in a small glass.
Then combine 1.5 oz. of orange sherbet and ice and shake until thoroughly mixed. Pour this layer over the bottom layer of pineapple juice and SKYY. If done correctly this should lay over the bottom layer of the pineapple mixture.
Lastly, add 1 oz. of milk and 1 oz. of simple syrup and then layer that on top. The glass should be yellow at the bottom, orange in the middle, and white at the top, resembling a candy corn.
2. Creepy Crawly Jello Shots
If someone favors shots over fruity drinks, jello shots are for you. They’re easy to make, yet still sweet and hit the spot before hitting the town.
Put a medium sized pot on a stove and boil 3 cups of water. Once water begins boiling, put 3 packets of jello in the pan and stir until the jello is in complete liquid form. Once in liquid form, stir for 2 more minutes and then add 2 cups of vodka.
Stir for a few minutes and then pour the mixture into shot glasses. Put one gummy worm into each shot glass. Once the substance is firm they’ll be ready to drink.
3. Jack-O-Lantern
This concoction is perfect to use as a substitute for jungle juice to get in the Halloween spirit.
Before making this drink, purchase SKYY Infusions Citrus, mango juice, and orange juice. Set aside 2 oz. of SKYY, 1oz. of mango juice, and ½ oz. of orange juice, and put them in a cocktail shaker or blender with ice. Shake the ingredients together for about 2 minutes until the combination is mixed completely. Pour into a large pitcher and enjoy!
4. Maliboo Witch’s Brew
This drink is a little bit more expensive than the others, but people won’t be disappointed with the sweet mix of rum, curacao, and juice mixed together.
Combine ½ oz. of Curacao liquor, 1.oz of Malibu coconut rum, ½ oz. of orange juice, and 2.oz. of pineapple juice in a bowl or tall glass. Pour ice into a cocktail shaker or blender, and then pour the mixture into the shaker. Shake vigorously until it is mixed completely. Pour into a cocktail or margarita glass and add a gummy worm for a kick.
These are just a few drinks, among hundreds of others that students can enjoy during the Halloween season. These drinks range from shots to fruity cocktails that anyone can enjoy. And always remember, drink responsibly!
