Scent can be one of the most alluring, defining characteristics of a person. A signature scent can invoke memories as well as serve as a stellar first impression. If you’re looking to reinvent yourself in this new year, perhaps try seeking out a new signature scent.

For your convenience, I have compiled a list of some of my personal favorites that you can use as a starting point in your journey to find a 2023 fragrance, or even, your forever fragrance.

  1. Jo Malone London English Pear & Freesia Cologne

Going into 2023, this may be my personal favorite fragrance. It’s fresh, fruity, and floral, yet not at all overpowering. It’s subtle yet impressive, making it a perfect signature scent that does not demand attention but entices it, as all good fragrances should.

  1. Glossier You

A bit of a social media favorite, Glossier You, cannot help but be a go-to for me. The rumors are true, this scent will gain you compliments, and I say that based on personal experience. The scent is unique, staying true to its name, and is a little musky, though still light and fresh.

  1. Jo Malone London Orange Blossom Cologne

Another Jo Malone London pick, Orange Blossom, is a textbook example of an ideal citrusy fragrance. If you enjoy the simple pleasure of peeling an orange, this scent captures that while making the citrus smell appropriate for personal fragrance: fresh, sophisticated, and memorable.

  1. Diptyque Eau Rose Eau De Parfum

Known for their iconic, celebrity and social media favorite candles, Diptyque has plenty to offer in the world of quality fragrances. Certainly not to be overlooked are their personal fragrances. While they have an array of top notch scents, I would recommend their rose fragrance for two reasons: 1) it is the perfect rose scent if rose is what you are into and 2) it pairs nicely with their hair mist of the same scent.

A signature scent should bottle your most attractive qualities. Finding such a scent is not easy, but definitely worth it. Many know the phrase, “a picture says a thousand words,” but I would counter that a scent says a million.
