It’s always a hassle to find the right shade of makeup to fit my skin color and it’s almost impossible to find the perfect hair styles or weave to match my hair type without making multiple trips to the beauty supply store. We all have role models we look up to when it comes to our future, but we seem to forget an important aspect of life where a little guidance or inspiration goes a long way: Black Beauty!

Believe me when I say that I’m still trying to find my own personal style and makeup routine, so when YouTube blessed the Internet with Beauty Bloggers—who literally give you tips, tricks, and advice—my prayers were answered!  Black beauty has always been overlooked, so more and more women of color took the initiative to educate other black beauties on go-to sources for hair care, skin care, and beauty regimens for women with darker complexion.

With so many options, it’s hard narrow down which Beauty Guru’s to follow! Keep in mind that all women have their own needs. For example, I need products to grow relaxed hair and I get outfit ideas from Forever21 and H&M. Everyone has their own sense of the word fashion and different ways of applying makeup, so it is up to you to explore and choose your top bloggers.  But just in case you need a little help,  here are a few of my favorite vloggers, whom you may enjoy as well.

This London Beaute expresses herself through more than her minimalist style, but the way she is able to portray it through photography and blogging makes her a great follow!  She makes dressing like a Gem look easy and lets not forget how adorable she is in her MAC “Ruby Woo” pout and Kim Kardashian Beach Waves!

When it comes to fashion, two heads are better than one!  Kelsey and Kendra Murrell a.k.a  “The Glamtwinz” have used their southern hospitality and curly locks to inspire women like myself to make the most out of casual wear as they take a great interest in helping beginners with makeup starter kits, twist-outs, and look-books for every season!

She doesn’t consider herself a guru, but for someone who just collaborated with colourpop cosmetics to have her own collection “ItsMyRayeRaye,” she sure is more of a Beauty Goddess! This fun and quirky puff ball will show you how to master a perfect cat eye while making you laugh. She will inspire you to try looks you may have never thought of before. There is nothing wrong with thinking outside of the box! Don’t be afraid to try her colourpop collection either!

Of course there are plenty more beautistas to follow, so don’t limit yourself! These are my favorites and after watching a few videos I am sure you will find your top favorites too!
