Name: Alexandra Pedroza

What activities are you involved in on campus? Marymount University Library Employee

Hobbies: writing, running, spending time with friends

What is your favorite part about being a leader on campus?
I enjoy being a leader because of the opportunities to both meet students and to help make the Marymount community a better place.

Why did you choose to attend Marymount?
I chose to attend Marymount due to it’s location to the DC area as well as the welcoming community that I found while visiting.

What is your favorite thing about Marymount?
My favorite thing about Marymount is the spirit of the students and the small class sizes, as well as professors who are willing to go above and beyond to help their students.

What is a typical day in your life like?
A typical day in my life would involve waking up and making breakfast with my roommates, commuting to Marymount and attending classes, spending some free time eating lunch with some friends, going to work at the library, then back to my apartment for dinner. After that I’ll go to the gym or go running and do some homework as well as spend time hanging out with my roommates/friends, sometimes with a glass of wine.

What do you see yourself doing in 5 years?
In 5 years I hope to have both graduated from Marymount with my Bachelor’s and to also have graduated with a masters in Librarian Studies. I hope to be working in a school as a librarian and to be writing on the side.

What is your most memorable moment at Marymount?
My most memorable moment at Marymount would probably just be the friends that I’ve made. They have truly made my experience here more invaluable than anything else.

What have you been able to take away from your years so far at Marymount?
I feel that through my time at Marymount I’ve been able to become more independent as well as to branch out into the rest of the world. I came to Marymount from a very small town so it was a bit overwhelming when I first got here. There has just been so much to do and experience not only at the university but in our nation’s capital.

What is your dream job and how do you think you’ll get there?
My dream job is to be a school librarian and a novelist. I plan to attend graduate school post my Marymount graduation to get a masters in Librarian studies. While working as a librarian I hope to then put to use my English degree and become an author.
