National Zoo ZooLights!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marymount chapter.

Although the time has passed, this is a must-go event for next year! The National Zoo in D.C. has annual Zoo Lights each year from November 28th to January 1st. It features many different lights with an array of colors. It’s a great thing to do with friends as the Christmas season approaches!

Many of the animal exhibits are closed so that the Zoo can be lined with the lights, but the indoor exhibits, like the Great Apes and smaller animals, are still open. Aside from being lined with lights the Zoo Lights extravaganza offers a train ride in the kids section, a carousel, and a tubing experience. It really is a great time! The cafe also remains open so you can satisfy your sweet tooth with a cup of hot chocolate or a warm dessert. Be sure to check out this great opportunity next fall!

Entrance to the Zoo Lights is free, other activities within the zoo are around three dollars.
